August 15 — 1:00pm-2:30pm
The Independent Martial Arts School is pleased to announce a unique opportunity for any woman who wants to learn more about personal safety and protection. This is a new kind of seminar, vetted by law enforcement and healthcare professionals in collaboration with our experienced female black belts.
Our course covers real life concerns: consent, empowerment, positive habits, and more. Our seminar offers a new way of looking at personal self-defense.
This seminar will be taught by a seventh-degree black belt from the Independent Martial Arts School, and will be followed by a Q&A session exclusively with female black belt instructors. Our school a safe environment free of judgement, and all participants receive a booklet summary and additional information along with the opportunity to practice techniques.
The Independent Martial Arts School Women's Self-Defense Seminars are open to all women ages 16+ (younger with parental permission.)
F.A.Q.
We’re happy to prepare you for our upcoming clinic.
Don’t see your question answered? Email our certified instructor, and she will be happy to answer your question.
-
We cover a range of topics covering everything from consent to physical self-defense. While much of this clinic focuses on strategies to avoid conflict and escalation, we do discuss some aspects of assault.
If someone feels uncomfortable with those topics, there is nothing wrong with taking a break and returning when they’re ready. We encourage anyone participating to do what they feel comfortable with when participating in this clinic.
-
We recommend this clinic for participants who are 16 years old or older.
Younger participants are welcome as long as they have parental or guardian permission.
-
Clothing you would wear to the gym for a workout would work wonderfully, but bear in mind some of our practice involves grabbing clothing, so wear what you would be comfortable practicing in.

Groups are absolutely welcome! We have limited spots, so please be aware.
If you have a large group or are interested in a private session, please visit this page to tell us more about your group and to coordinate with us for scheduling.
